Editorial policy: how we write, check and correct our pages
This editorial policy explains how every Compliant Lets page is written, sourced, dated, reviewed and corrected. Compliant Lets is a trading name of LAMTANS Holdings Ltd. Work is delivered by LAMTANS Engineering Ltd, so we also tell you where our own interests lie. Last checked 21 October 2026.
How we write
Each page is written for the person who searched. We use plain English and short sentences. Each page has a Written by line and a Reviewed by line. They give a role and qualification, never a personal name.
Our specialists page lists the roles. Staff photos are not published.
How we check facts
Every fact is checked against an official source before it is published. We use GOV.UK, legislation.gov.uk, Ofgem, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and local councils. Each page ends with a Sources list and the date we checked it.
If we cannot verify a fact, we leave it out. We do not publish invented figures or guarantees.
Law status labels
Rules change, so we label every statement about EPC rules with its status and date.

At 21 October 2026, EPC C by 1 October 2030 is confirmed government policy, not yet law. Read the detail in our EPC C 2030 guide.
Dates and reviews under this editorial policy
Every page shows when it was published and when it was last updated. Guides are reviewed at least every six months. We review them straight away when a rule or grant changes.
Grant statements give the scheme name, who qualifies, the amount, the end date and the date we checked. Our grants for landlords guide follows this format.
Prices, reviews and finance
We show only researched "from" prices, with the basis and date. We never publish a fixed quote. Reviews appear only when they come from an independent platform, and we offer no incentives for them.
Our commercial interest
We do not hide that LAMTANS Engineering Ltd sells retrofit work. We explain the options so you can compare them, and you can use our guides without buying anything. Read our accreditations and delivery page for who does what.
Corrections and how to report an error
If you think something is wrong, tell us using the contact form. Please give the page address and what you think is wrong. A source helps.
We check each report against the official source. If you are right, we correct the page and update its date. We never name an individual assessor or tradesperson in a correction.
